The partnership will establish an Agentic AI Centre of Excellence to support customer service, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across the bank.

Kyndryl and Suryoday Small Finance Bank have announced a collaboration to deploy agentic AI capabilities across the bank’s enterprise operations, with the aim of improving customer experience, strengthening compliance processes and enhancing operational efficiency.

Under the collaboration, Kyndryl will establish an Agentic AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) to help Suryoday identify, develop and scale relevant AI use cases. The bank will use Kyndryl’s Agentic AI Framework to support automation across customer journeys and internal processes.

Planned use cases include faster digitisation and validation of account-opening forms, voice-enabled mobile banking support, assistance in responding to legal enforcement requests, investigation of suspicious transactions and MSME loan underwriting.

The initiative reflects a wider shift in banking AI adoption from isolated proof-of-concept projects towards enterprise-wide deployment. For a small finance bank, the emphasis is on applying AI to practical workflows while maintaining governance, security and regulatory discipline.

Business impact for BFSI: the partnership highlights the potential of agentic AI to reduce manual processing, improve service responsiveness and support risk and compliance teams. It also shows how technology service providers can help banks move from AI experimentation to governed, operational use cases. The announcement describes planned capabilities; it does not quantify realised benefits.

BFSI NXT Editorial Take

A Centre of Excellence is the right institutional answer to agentic AI: it keeps use-case selection, governance and scaling in one place. The test for Suryoday will be moving from the announced list to measured outcomes.
