Technology aims to help banks strengthen fraud prevention while reducing friction for genuine customers

As financial institutions confront increasingly sophisticated digital fraud, LexisNexis Risk Solutions has introduced Emailage Adaptive, an AI-powered fraud detection solution designed to adapt to emerging fraud patterns without requiring manual model recalibration.

AI THAT ADAPTS AS FRAUD EVOLVES

The solution uses institution-specific transaction data, industry trends and signals such as email addresses, IP addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses to generate tailored risk scores. It is designed to support fraud prevention across digital account opening, account management and payments.

According to LexisNexis Risk Solutions, testing showed that the solution captured approximately 90% of fraud within the highest-risk transactions while reducing false positives by more than 80%.

The company also cited Dell Technologies as an implementation example, reporting that the technology helped double high-risk fraud capture rates and reduce manual reviews of low-risk transactions by 83%.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR INDIA’S BFSI SECTOR

As India’s digital banking, instant payments and fintech ecosystems expand, financial institutions must balance transaction security, customer experience and operational efficiency. Adaptive AI-based fraud intelligence could help institutions respond more quickly to changing attack patterns, identify suspicious activity and reduce manual investigation.

Before deployment, institutions should assess performance against their own fraud patterns, data quality, privacy requirements and regulatory obligations.

THE BFSI LEADERSHIP PERSPECTIVE

The next phase of digital trust will depend not simply on detecting known fraud patterns, but on identifying emerging risks while allowing genuine customers to transact securely. For banking leaders, CISOs, chief risk officers and payments executives, the opportunity is to make fraud prevention more adaptive, measurable and customer-centric.
