The controlled pilot aims to make selected foreign-exchange services available through participating banks and digital channels.

Bharat Connect introduced a soft launch of multicurrency foreign-exchange services, adding support for the euro, pound sterling, Canadian dollar, Swiss franc and UAE dirham, according to Global Fintech Fest 2026 launch coverage.

The pilot is intended to support selected journeys such as purchasing foreign currency, making overseas remittances and reloading forex cards through participating banks and digital channels. The service was described as being tested with a controlled user group, so availability and functionality should not be assumed to be universal.

Bringing forex services into a familiar digital financial interface could simplify discovery and access for travellers and other eligible users. However, foreign-exchange transactions remain subject to participating-bank processes, applicable rules, charges and documentation requirements.

Clear exchange-rate presentation, transparent fees and appropriate customer verification will be important to the customer experience.

BFSI NXT perspective: Digital forex services can reduce friction for customers, but trust depends on transparent pricing, clear eligibility and reliable execution.
