NEW DELHI, 23 October 2026 — The Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC), chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, reviewed macro-financial stability and emerging risks at its 30th meeting, including challenges linked to geopolitical uncertainty, rapid advances in AI and changing global financial conditions.
The discussions covered cyber resilience across India’s financial sector, protection of critical information infrastructure and cybersecurity preparedness among Regional Rural Banks. The Council also considered fintech innovation, tokenisation of financial and real-world assets, digital KYC and onboarding, and the development of India’s digital public infrastructure.
The review underlines the importance of balancing innovation with strong safeguards. For BFSI technology leaders, cyber resilience, secure digital onboarding, data protection and effective governance remain central to building trust while adopting new financial technologies.
