The collaboration is focused on multilingual voice-based interactions across sales, collections and employee operations.

Mahindra Finance expanded its partnership with Indian AI company Sarvam to deploy voice-based AI agents across selected financial-services workflows, according to Global Fintech Fest 2026 launch coverage.

The reported use cases include sales, collections and employee operations, with support for 12 Indian languages. Voice interfaces can be particularly relevant in rural and semi-urban markets where customers may prefer speaking in a local language to navigating a complex digital form.

AI agents may help financial institutions manage high-volume routine interactions, provide reminders and route customer requests. But lending and collections are sensitive contexts. Institutions must ensure that callers are clearly identified, customer data is protected, and automated conversations do not become coercive or misleading.

Human escalation, call-quality monitoring and clear complaint channels remain essential, particularly where a customer disputes an amount or faces financial difficulty.

BFSI NXT perspective: Multilingual AI can broaden access to financial services when it is designed around customer dignity, consent and responsible collections.
